Kim Tan is the heir to Empire Group who has been sent to study abroad in the U.S. In reality it's a form of exile, as his elder half-brother back home schemes to take over the family business. While in the States, Tan meets Cha Eun-sang, who arrived from Korea in search of her older sister. He feels himself falling for her, never realizing that she's the daughter of his family's housekeeper. When his fiancée Yu Rachel arrives to bring him back to Korea, his heart is torn between love and duty.
1Romance Between the Heirs Start
Choe Yeong-do and his father meet with Yu Rachel and her mother, but it doesn't go well. Cha Eun-sang is stunned by news about her sister in America.
2A Love Encounter
With nowhere to go, Eun-sang accepts Tan's offer to stay at his palatial beachfront house, where Rachel shows up announcing herself as Tan's fiancée.
3A Romantic Relationship and Emotional Entanglements
After getting a call from Seoul, Tan goes to meet his brother Won, who's not happy to see him. Tan and Eun-sang get stranded in the middle of nowhere.

When Tan comes home bloody and beaten up, Won tries to talk some sense into him. Won runs into Yeong-do and wants to know why Tan's in such a bad state.

At Tan's party, Won meets his match -- for a marriage arranged by his father. Won and Tan discuss what their father's condition means for the company.
20A Happy Ending for Kim Tan and Eun Sang
Hyeon-ju lets go of Won. Tan wants to know why Won has to make a sacrifice, but Won says it's necessary for the company and his responsibility to bear.
