Top Gear of the Pops est une spéciale musicale unique mettant en vedette Travis, Supergrass, McFly (chargé d'écrire une chanson en dix minutes) et enfin Justin Hawkins. Soutenu par Clarkson à la batterie, Hammond à la basse et May au clavier. Il a été diffusé dans le cadre de l'appel Comic Relief du 16 mars 2007, mélangeant des éléments de Top Gear avec Top of the Pops, l'émission de classement musical britannique annulée en 2006. The Top Gear team of Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond decided, for Sport Relief, to impersonate and belittle the show Ground Force, and provide a garden makeover to the garden of one of Britain's sporting legends, namely Steve Redgrave. Helping them was a team of "Foreign Nationals", and on hand to provide advice on Redgrave's tastes was his wife, Ann Redgrave, who was erroneously addressed and referred to as "Lady Ann" rather than the proper "Lady Redgrave".

The aim: to select the ideal mode of transport for each leg of a pilgrimage from Venice, Italy to Pau in France – home to a legendary street circuit and the origins of Grand Prix racing. On the way we prepare by taking to the track at Monza – the home of Italian Formula One. We try to get noticed on the road course in Monaco in a Bugatti, a Lamborghini and a Model T Ford. After cruising the canals in Venice we take to the tarmac and things look good - thanks to the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta and Mercedes SLS Black. Throw in a Pagani Huayra, Porsche Cayman S and a GT3 as well as the Aston Martin Vanquish centenary edition, Bentley V8 convertible, Rolls Royce Phantom coupe and the face-bending BAC Mono all seems pretty perfect to us. Dans cette spéciale unique, Jeremy Clarkson, James May et les hôtes australiens de Top Gear, Shane Jacobsen et Steve Pizatti, organisent leur propre festival automobile devant 40 000 fans sur une piste de course à Sydney, en Australie. Mark Webber pilote sa voiture de F1 contre Casey Stoner sur un superbike. James tente d'accélérer le service postal australien en utilisant des coureurs de superbike et Clarkson tente de battre un coureur de haies olympique dans une course de 100 mètres à l'aide d'une Nissan GTR. Par la suite, il sort une de ses création : la voiture la plus petite du monde (selon lui) et se retrouve face à un adversaire improbable dans la ligne droite principale. Finalement ils organiseront un match de football Angleterre vs Australie version automobile dans les voitures les plus dangereuses du monde : les Reliant Robins à trois roues.

Top Gear sets out on a high-altitude voyage from Kathmandu, capital of Nepal, to the Forbidden City of Lo Manthang, a secretive kingdom perched high on the Tibetan plateau, on the far side of the Himalayas. It is a five-day expedition through the highest mountains, deepest gorges and harshest terrain on the planet. On their journey, the Top Gear presenters battle river crossings, mudslides and dizzying mountain passes on a trip that would test even the hardiest new 4x4s on the planet to the limit. But Paddy, Freddie and Chris aren’t crossing the Himalayas in new 4x4s. They are crossing the Himalayas in a very small old Peugeot, a very small old Renault and Nepal’s first (and only) home-built car.

En mai 2007, James May et Jeremy Clarkson, au volant de leur Toyota Hilux, ainsi que deux véhicules de soutien pour l’équipe de tournage, deux ingénieurs mécaniques, et un expert polaire se lançaient à l'assaut des espaces glacés du pôle Nord. Ils ont parcouru plus de 700 kilomètres dans des conditions extrêmes, avec des températures pouvant aller jusqu'à - 35°C. Lors de ce défi, les trois véhicules étaient opposé à un traîneau de chiens, conduit par Richard Hammond et l'exploratrice Matty McNair, la première femme a avoir atteint le pôle.

205Le Road Trip idéal - Épisode 2
Tout comme l'épisode précédent, cette spéciale est centrée sur la quête de Richard et Jeremy à trouver le road trip parfait. C'est ce qui les poussent naturellement à se diriger une fois de plus vers l'Italie. Le précédent road trip idéal s'étant terminé prématurément lorsque la gendarmerie française leur avait retiré leur permis en raison d'une conduite imprudente. La leçon apprise, Jeremy & Richard ont décidé de démarrer ce nouveau road trip là ou ils avaient terminé le dernier. Une des grandes différences par rapport à la spéciale précédente est que le duo ne se rendra pas en France, mais restera en Italie tout au long de la course. Ils doivent voyager vers le sud de Venise, à travers la Toscane et Rome, et terminer sur la côte amalfitaine. Les voitures sont également différentes cette fois-ci, avec de nombreux exemplaires neufs au moment où ils ont été filmés, comme l'Alfa Romeo 4C et la Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Cabriolet.

Produite à 21 millions d'exemplaires avant de devenir une héroïne de cinéma, la Coccinelle a été confié à Ferdinand Porsche avant de sortir des usines Volswagen en 1938. Toujours en Allemagne mais de l'Est, l'histoire de la Trabant et de la Wartburg. Puis un petit tour en Italie avec la Fiat 500 et la Lada, adaptation russe de la mythique Fiat.
