He died on October 20, 2003 in Los Angeles, California, USA. Jackson was employed at a factory with friend/co-director Jerry Younkins. There was an accident in the factory and Younkins lost a couple of fingers. The insurance settlement was $8,000, which the duo quickly decided to use to cover some production costs for their first film, The Demon Lover (1976).
