When De Poezenkrant ("The Cat Newspaper") announces the end of its remarkable fifty-year run, the Dutch media responds with an unexpected wave of affection and nostalgia. Curious how a tiny, idiosyncratic publication inspired such devotion, filmmaker Daniel Carlson follows its creator, Piet Schreuders, alongside journalists, critics, contributors, and longtime readers to uncover how an underground obsession quietly became a cultural institution. More than a film about cats, this warm and witty documentary is a celebration of eccentric communities, handmade publishing, and the enduring power of small acts of cultural resistance.
